The Davidson Lands Conservancy is pleased to announce a hike to our most recently conserved property, the Runneymede Woods. Located on the east side of Davidson, the Runneymede Woods features magnificent rock outcroppings, including Whale Rock, the Rocky River, large hardwoods and a bit of local history.
The hike is scheduled for Saturday, November 2nd from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A copy of the hike invitation may be viewed by clicking here.
Leading the hike will be Taylor Piephoff, writer of the ‘Piedmont Birding’ column for The Charlotte Observer. The hike will be about two miles long on natural surface trails. Most of the hike is on relatively level terrain, although there are some modest climbs to get up to Whale Rock.
The hike is open to members of The Davidson Lands Conservancy. If you’d like to join, simply click on the ‘DONATE’ button on our website, and for as little as $35 (less for students) you can join the DLC and support land conservation and education in the Davidson area.
If you’d like to attend the hike, please RSVP to Roy Alexander at dlc@davidsonlands.org.
